The Mood Edit — Pinterest Series (Self-Initiated Design Brief)
Overview:
This is a self-directed branding and social media project for a fictional client, The Mood Edit—a boutique home styling brand focused on moody, vintage-inspired interiors. The goal was to create a set of Pinterest-ready graphics to promote their blog post:
“How to Master Moody Interiors Without Going Full Goth.”

The Brief:
Platform: Pinterest
Deliverables: 4 vertical graphics
Target audience: Design-conscious homeowners, interior stylists, and visual tastemakers
Tone: Sophisticated, editorial, layered
Visual keywords: Depth, quiet luxury, texture, mood

Design Goals:
Use minimalism without falling into sterility
Pair strong typography with rich but restrained color palettes
Let the mood do the talking through space, contrast, and tone

Artistic Choices:
Typography: Mixed serif and sans-serif for an editorial but approachable feel
Color Palette: Deep navy, warm ochre, soft black, mossy green—echoing vintage interiors
Layout: Each post explores a different visual rhythm—some static, some dynamic—to reflect the idea of visual “mood shifts”
Copywriting: Intentionally poetic, subtle, and restrained to match the brand voice

Outcome:
This project was both a visual exploration and a chance to showcase my ability to:
Work within a fictional brand system
Create platform-specific assets (Pinterest)
Combine illustration, typography, and storytelling in a cohesive way
Created for portfolio development and creative growth.
