Cushion Cover Design
Design a modern mid-century inspired pattern cushion cover
Objective
The goal of this project is to design a cushion cover inspired by 1960's fashion and colours!
I’m obsessed with the culture that surrounded Formula 1 racing in the 60’s. The colors, the style, the personalities. Love it! I wanted to start with this idea.

I didn’t want to be too “on the nose” with the shapes I used, but if you knew what you were looking for, could appreciate what you saw. I chose to work with the trophy handle, laurel leaf and a circle for a tire or steering wheel. I used the rotate tool in Illustrator to make a fun pattern.
Now that I had the shape I liked, I headed to Adobe Color for palette ideas.

I found this color palette that is taken from Mini Cooper colors. They were bright, fun, with some of the fall colors I associate with the 60’s. Avocado!

I filled in the original pattern, added some red dots for interest/contrast, applied it to the larger pattern, and finally the pillow mock-up.
